Welcome to Obuntu Hub!
Obuntu Hub is a social enterprise that seeks to empower young entrepreneurs based in Arusha, Tanzania.
Our story begins after we (Carolyn Kandusi and Collins Kimaro) graduated from President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) RLC and returned to Arusha. Inspired by the notion of “obuntu” i.e. “collective progress,” we were eager to share what we had learned with other young people in our local community.
Together with Jonathan Rutta, we believe that young people and entrepreneurship are key for Tanzania’s future. Key to help the country realise its potential and solve many challenges including youth un(der)employment. We therefore conceived the hub as a catalyst to drive collective progress for entrepreneurs and the community at large.
As a social enterprise, we are committed to re-investing our revenue to provide training for young micro-entrepreneurs and for the sustainability of the hub.
To empower young entrepreneurs by providing co-working space, practical skills development and a supportive community.
A united community of young entrepreneurs who drive innovation and socioeconomic development across Tanzania.
Transforming potential into reality.
